Kraj 24. letnje univerzijade u Bangkoku na Nacionalnom stadionu obeležili su srpski trubači, tajlandski folklor i veliki vatromet. Zastavu Svetske sportske studentske federacije (FISU) preuzeo je potpredsednik Vlade Srbije Božidar Đelić koji je poželeo dobrodošlicu celom svetu pošto će 2009. godine Beograd organizovati Univerzijadu.
